Christmas Promotion
Tips and Tricks
The Christmas Season presents some good opportunities for you to connect with your customers and build relationships that last all year long. One of the best ways to communicate with your customer baseis through email. Here are some tips and tricks to help you make the most of this Christmas season.
- The Key to Success is Your List - The most important factor in email communication is the quality and quantity of your list. After all, the more people you reach with your message, the better off you are. I recommend that our clients invest at least twice as much time, money and effort in collecting and growing their email lists as they do designing and sending their emails. The larger your list, the more people you will reach; the more people your reach, the larger your customer
base will become.

- Give a Gift - The convergence of a digital marketing and digital music presents a great opportunity for you to give a little taste of your music to help grow your list. Here are two promotions we recently did to help our clients expand their email lists and give their fans a little something extra. Check out what we recently did for Amy Sky and Mark Masri.
- Have Some Fun - Christmas is a pressure-packed time of year, and having some fun can be a great way for you to connect with your audience. Here are two fun eCard campaigns we've run for clients that may be just the kind of thing to bring a smile to someone's face this Christmas. Here are a couple eCards for Anita Renfroe and Richie McDonald.
- More Tips and Tricks
-Subject lines are critical: Make them short and encourage action. Email open rates are typically around 15%-20%, so you need to use the subject line as a hook to draw people in and make them want to read the email.
-Respect the Law: Be sure your email complies with anti-spam laws and give people the option of opting out of your email list if they no longer want to recieve the emails.
-Collect Email Addresses Offline at Live Events: An email sign up form or contest at a live event can be a great way to gather email addresses and the permission you need to contact people in the future.
-Send During the Week: Chances are you are reading this email at work. Many people read their emails at work, which is why sending emails on Monday - Thursday can be the most efficient way to get customers to open your emails, thus helping to expand your list.
-CyberMonday: The Monday after Thanksgiving, which is December 1st this year, is the biggest online shopping day of the year. Make sure your best offers are available on this day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Yours Truly,
Michael
