The explosion of mobile devices, smart phones and the groundbreaking iPhone are changing the way consumers use the internet. These days, more and more people are on the go, using their iPhone or Blackberry to surf the web on 3G networks instead of having to connect to the internet in the now old-fashioned tradition of using home computers plugged into phone or cable lines.
What does this mean to you? It means you need a website that can be viewed on an iPhone or other internet-ready mobile devices. Most web sites, especially those with Flash animation, are difficult to read and use on a smart phone. In addition, users on the move use information differently.
In designing a site for the iPhone, it's important to keep the users in mind. We start by reviewing site statistics to make sure the most frequently used areas of the site were prominent and easy to find. Next we thought about the mobile user. When you are out and about, what information do you need? Not surprisingly we decided to feature tour information, directions and a simple navigation bar. Check it out and let us know what you think. Maybe you are even reading this email on your iPhone!
